Community turns out for Fall Healthy Living Show in Crystal River
By Mike Pate For the Chronicle Oct 14, 2025 Dozens of local health providers, wellness organizations and community groups gathered for the Fall Healthy Living Show, held at the U.S. Army National Guard Armory in Crystal River. The event, presented by the Citrus County Chronicle, featured more than 40 vendors offering information, free screenings and giveaways to help residents take steps toward better health and wellness. NAMI Citrus County volunteers Linda Kohlohoff and Melissa Deszcz greeted visitors with brochures and promotional items during the Fall Healthy Living Show. NAMI Citrus County, the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, provides free mental health education, peer-led support and advocacy to raise awareness and reduce stigma in the community.Mike Pate/for the Chronicle Among the exhibitors were representatives from Citrus County’s veterans community, including Robert Galante, Senior Vice Commander, and Bill Merryman, Commander of Post 10087 in Beverly Hills. The pair promoted their upcoming National First Responders Day celebration, set for Oct. 28, an event dedicated to honoring the men and women who serve and protect the community. Longtime Citrus County residents Drs. Nancy and Carl Irven stopped by the CapTel booth, where they chatted with representative Audra Hudson about captioned telephone services for those with hearing loss. “We’re retired and wanted to get out, be social, and reconnect with the health field again,” Nancy said. Local healthcare providers were also represented by Robin Holloway, nurse practitioner and owner of Inspired Functional Medicine in Inverness. She was joined by her team, including Holly Holloway, LPN, and Kamryn Corlew, member coordinator. The clinic, founded in 2022, focuses on a functional medicine approach that addresses the root causes of illness through personalized care and prevention. Holloway noted this was the clinic’s second year participating in both the spring and fall shows.
