What is Democrat Socialism?

What is Democrat Socialism?

When I think about Democrat Socialism, I think of snake oil that the other side is trying to sell to the American public. What is so democratic about centralized government taking control of private industry and giving scraps to its citizenry? Is capitalism really a dirty word? Capitalism has raised many out of poverty, thereby encouraging hardworking citizens to charter their own course in life in the name of freedom. The innovations that followed extended the average life span of the American individual from 47 years of age to now 77 years. Better health care, better public health policies, a strong military, efficient transportation, public education, energy innovativeness, along with our US Constitution, have made America a super power; the envy of the world.

John Locke, a physician and philosopher in the 1600’s, supported individualism and limited government. He wrote in his 2 nd Treatise of government that the key to prosperity was property ownership. He believed in separation of powers and freedom of religion. He was labeled a political dissident in England and was exiled to Holland, but later returned once William and Mary of Orange became the constitutional monarchy of England, aka The Glorious Revolution”. Parliament was established.

Our government is still influenced by John Locke’s theories. Our Bill of Rights are divinely given. Should a Mamdani or Mamdani himself become the next Mayor of New York city, I fear this radical form of governance will serve as a cancer to the city of New York. Goodbye Capitalism, goodbye prosperity; hello breadlines, “fairness” and government scarcities. I hope and pray that the citizens of New York City will wake up before it’s too late.
